Package Plus is an extensive Windows software system which
handles all aspects of a Road Haulage operator’s business.
Our users are based all over the country with a wide range
of fleet sizes.
We are looking for a young person to join our software support
team. The job entails all aspects of answering customers’ detailed
questions about what the functions of the system are and
how to best use them, supporting new users upgrading from
our web-site, keeping the web-site help and FAQ documentation
up-to-date and helping customers solve any day-to-day operational
problems they may have, by telephone, email, internet and
dial-in. Much of the work involves investigating problems
over the phone with customers and talking them through corrective
procedures, so a quietly confident, calm, supportive telephone
manner is extremely important.
The person appointed will probably be to BTEC standard in
IT and have a lot of interest in and a practical knowledge
of Windows, networks, MS Office and Access Database. (MS
SQL experience would be useful but not essential). The opportunity
to expand and develop these skills will be given along with
full training in all aspects of Package Plus software. Previous
full-time job experience is not essential.
This job is for you if you like solving problems (by analysing
databases, checking program code, running queries etc.) – sometimes
under pressure if a customer has a deadline. It is not for
you if you want to write new code.
The job is mainly based at our Ixworth office, but it may
be necessary to make customer site visits. A driving licence
is required. Ours is a No Smoking office.
